so hawt right nah.

every time i open my computer i get to see this beautiful face.
{and no i did not set it myself...that would be more than just slightly creepy}
it just reminds me that in only
EIGHT DAYS.
TWO HOURS.
&
FORTY-SIX MINUTES.
we will be experiencing j. rit. in the flesh.
i mean, really, what more could i ask for?
happy president's day weekend all.

rippled reflections.

well since according to the sneaky narwhal, a total of 7 people read my blog,
(and what a shame, i thought it was 8)
i've decided it's not too risky to post this.
i've been feeling inspired by camus for the past couple of days, and this is my own version of catharsis right now.
so here are today's thoughts, in more of an essay-esque format than usual:

the desire for purpose in human life is either the life or death of a soul. in these exact terms, it is revealed that human existence is never as is. never just one thing: there are always two sides. but, in itself, this prediction provides a predicament. for if no one statement goes unopposed, how may one ever present an opinion and fully believe in its truth? this is where the virtue of belief takes precedence in our world. faith, in itself, provides humanity with the catalyst behind motivation. the downfall of the human race was stated by christopher mccandless: “happiness [is] only real when shared”. with the complication in simplicity alexander supertramp emanates, our contradictions fall back into place. love: the most publicized of human emotions, whose vices are so often overlooked in response to its successes. a basic guideline for human existence thus shows itself: prosperity and downfall are achieved in response to the same virtues. then begs the question of whether both ends are possible through these identical merits. while one does not get the privilege to discover the answer to this inquiry until he reaches his own end, he constantly gains the knowledge of reason on the way towards his answer. and then comes our next downfall stated again by mccandless: “if we admit that life can be ruled by reason, then all possibility of life is destroyed”. our only savior is deterioration in lieu of downfall. all we can hope for is a natural end before our declension reaches an end of its own.

reckoner.

and to jacob: i refuse to get any sass for posting nothing but a picture with a disclaimer.

24 June 2010

a new world.

i'm upset.
all my friends have left me for new lands.
aka mexico, europe & utah.
i'm starting to get a taste of what all of next year will be like...scary much?
THE WORLD IS STEALING MY FRIENDS AWAY.
then again, i guess i've left some people too...

...but only for this.
oh wait, it's hawaii.
hence the lei & dolphin bracelet.
plus some awkward joy.
i'm pretty much enjoying it here.
and spending my rare non-beach time downloading music.
current love?
sia.

but, even more than sia, i'm enjoying [morning teleportation]. THEY'RE TIGHT.

and sorry for being lame and posting pictures of myself, but i wanted some animation for my thoughts, and i don't have my camera...so photobooth will have to suffice.
oopsies.

and fyi, i graduated. it's offish.

oh, ps...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACOB.

you didn't think i forgot about you, did you?
NEVER.
i enjoy your droopy eyes in this photo.
xo.

08 June 2010

let the weight of the world drift away instead.

first of all, i'm sorry for being a flaky blogger. it's been almost 2 weeks since i updated. life's been too complicated to write it down.

but a lot has been happening...

catalina,

PRAMA '10,

& senior salute.

next, i thought i'd include this face. it made me laugh...a lot.

ALSO, meet doc. i call him D because he's cool and he sleeps like this:

and finally, i'm going to hawaii in 2 weeks. i'm dying of excitement...i get to return to this:

i even went online bathing suit shopping tonight.

i also thought i'd share my 2 recent insightful fortunes:

life is not a problem to be solved but rather a mystery to be lived.
(my lucky numbers are 38, 42, 47, 48, 49 & 50. and my lucky month is september. also my month of birth...coincidence? i think not.)

don't look back, always look ahead.

i finally bought j. ritter's new album.

(i could only find the live version, sorreh. the recording's much slower)

i'm also currently re-obsessed (not a word. i don't care) with the oc & greek. the oc, season 3 is my senior year in a dramatized t.v. show, and greek is getting me excited for college.

and we're signing yearbooks. i hate it. it's all too final and stressful. never change, have a great summer!  i bet you've gotten that one before.

and too the sneaky narwhal, i think grammer is very important. your rude.
(catch it)

xo to all.

12 April 2010

seth mountain.

the other day, jeff called me at about 10am (and i had just woken up...eh) and asked me to go on a hike with him and jacob. i secretly didn't want to because it was really hot and i was lazy, but i decided that it would be good for me, and i wanted to see jeff & jacob. so we hiked...

...with weapons. and yes, my rope counts as a weapon. jeff had a saw which, unfortunately, didn't make it into the picture.

this was a legit hike. i even got battle wounds climbing up.

view from the top:

and finally, our bouquets (jeff's won...and just ignore my man hand):

and in the end, i was very glad i chose to go. i'm kind of realizing that i only have the chance to do these things whenever i want for the next 4 months...i'll miss you, lc.

p.s.

11 March 2010

for jacob.

p.s. apparently, a photo collage doesn't count as a blog post. so this post is simply for the sake of keeping my promise.
