vitality.

you know what would be splendid?

a perfect wooden swing on a perfect grassy hillside that i could swing on, facing the perfect view.
no life could be lackluster with a thinking spot like that.
that's not to imply that my life is lackluster.
you know what it is about life that makes it hard to live in the now?
it's that its parts are all too momentary, and we let our moments become separated by emotions.
and while these emotions can be lost, the moment you experienced them never can. i grapple with this only because i cannot constantly live in the present.
next time i play 'never have i ever', i'll have to present:
never have i ever lost a moment.
and no one will have to put his/her finger down. because all of our moments are eternally part of the universe.

and you know what the best part is?
this fact, in itself, strings together the moments with something constant.
 so next time you're hesitating to take a leap, just remember that even if it's just for a moment, your possible victory will forever be a part of history.

...at least i find that comforting.

i'll end this sporadic collection of thoughts with this one:
when the least events are occurring, the most is happening inside you.

in other news, don't these tots look like they were caught in the act of singing 'home' by edward sharpe and the magnetic zeroes to each other?

 barefoot on a summer night, anyone?

aussi,
once i am out of college and have my own apartment...i will own 2 cats. i haven't decided on the colors yet, but they will be baby brother and sister kittens. the boy will be named tucker and the girl will be lily (so i can call her lily pad).
that is all.

28 February 2011

calling all lovebugs.

i'm in love with smiling this week, more than ever,
and these few things are only a part of what's causing it:

 {bills for $47.47 at table number 47}

{surrounding myself with absurd musicians}

{happy kittens}

{baby teixeira}

{overly-descriptive signs}

{sisters}

{walle bywater}

{mila kunis's beautiful oscar style}

{spontaneous/hidden photoshoots}

{JOSH RITTER. everything about him. his concert was just as amazing as i'd hoped. in fact, it is my number one concert experience EVER. love you, j. ritt.}

the fact that mr. and mrs. facer are teaching me how to cook tonight. oh, how i love them!

also, the fact that i saw MARK SALLING at in-n-out last sunday. we had some fierce eye contact going down.

also also, the fact that it's shamrock shake season.

in addition to all of this, i even have music to keep my life company.
particularly these songs:

hello - martin solveig & dragonette
rolling in the deep (jamie xx remix) - adele
helena beat - foster the people
stitched up - herbie hancock & john mayer
gimme sympathy (acoustic) - metric
cubism dream - local natives
rise up - diane birch
white collar boy - belle and sebastian
crown on the ground - sleigh bells
neighborhood #1 (tunnels) - arcade fire
four winds - bright eyes

i hope everyone is enjoying their last day of february!
xoxo.

10 December 2010

santa claus lane.

time for all the festivities!
the scene is being set for the best christmas ever, i can just tell.
so, in addition to my currently silver&gold nails, my santa silly band, and the christmas cd i made for my car, here's what's been going down christmas-wise:
(sorry basically every post is about christmas...it's a serious obsession this year)

the dorm is as decorated as it could be:

we even have our very own c. brown xmas tree (thanks mom):

i tried my best with the paper snowflakes:

and then i had to make the trip home to help decorate the tree:

reading christmas cards with cute little bebes on them:

my favorite jophes ornament (yes, jophes)

 the finished product:

no one was quite as into taking pictures as i was so i ended up recruiting doc for a photoshoot...he wasn't as happy as i'd hoped he'd be. and thank you rachel for my lovely headband:

in conclusion, i love christmas. enough said.

p.s. i just love my mother. she's the very best.

03 December 2010

pennies from heaven.

my very own christmas wishlist (everyone's doing it):

2. [the drunkard's walk]: how randomness rules our lives, by leonard mlodinow

 4. some perfect little [crate and barrel ornaments]

5. [an adorable dove dress] from modcloth

 7. [a puzzle] for christmas day

10. if only this [diane von furtsenberg dress] wasn't $200

12. this kitten

 (p.s. take note that this isn't my actual christmas list because my actual one doesn't include a $150 puzzle and a kitten, etc...although i'm always down for a kitten or two)

05 July 2010

everybody wants to be a cat.

guess what i watched tonight?
only the cutest movie ever made:
does anyone else recognize little marie with her pink bows?
(i was her for halloween when i was little.)
as thomas o'malley the cat would say, i only got myself and this big old world.
after reuniting with best friends, eating some flautas, doing a little shopping, playing some scattergories & disney scene it, dancing to the rain with piggity pajizzle, setting off fireworks in 2 different locations, and finally owning a pair of white jeans...
i think i can safely say that watching the aristocats was a lovely end to a wonderful 4th.
i hope yours was even more wonderful. ☮ out my loves.

p.s. my camera's been missing for 3 weeks now.
:(
i must find a way to document my last 2 months with this place.
